Permanent makeup is NOT recommended for any clients who:
- Are under the age of 18.
- Are pregnant or nursing
- Have a history of Keloids or Hypertrophic scarring
- Have uncontrolled Diabetes (need written doctor consent)
- Are undergoing Chemotherapy (consult your doctor)
- Have HIV or Viral infections and/or diseases
- Have Epilepsy
- Have a pacemaker or major heart problems
- Have had an organ transplant
- Have a heart condition or uncontrolled high blood pressure
- Skin irritations or Psoriasis near the treated area
- Have had Botox in the past 2 months
- Used Accutane within the past year
- Have excessive oily skin
- Are sick or have symptoms of COVID-19 including: Fever, Fatigue, Dry Cough, Sore Throat, Muscle Pain, Headache, Chills, Difficulty Breathing, New loss of taste or smell.
- Any treatment, medication, or illness that compromises the immune system or healing process would NOT make you a good candidate for micropigmentation procedures.
Are you certified?

Yes, I am formally trained and certified in Microblading, Microshading, Ombre Powder, and Combo Brows. My facility is permitted by the Department of Health and all safety protocols are strictly adhered to. I am also a member of the American Academy of Micropigmentation and fully dedicated to continuing to stay up to date with industry standards and techniques.

Does it hurt?
​
This is probably the most common concern for every client. Everyone's skin and pain tolerance is different. Although there is minor discomfort in the beginning of a session, the level of discomfort is minimized with topical numbing agents that are applied throughout the process. The discomfort does not last very long. In fact, most clients fall asleep during their session... (8/10 times). Many clients associate the feeling to threading or plucking 2-3 hairs at a time.

What's the difference between permanent makeup vs. a traditional tattoo?
​
In permanent makeup, pigment is deposited into the second layer of the skin (epidermis) which provides semi-permanent results. Permanent makeup is meant to fade over time. With traditional tattoos, pigments are deposited into the third layer of the skin, also known as the dermis. By implanting pigment into the dermis, the results will be permanent. When it comes to micropigmentation, it is critical for an artist to only work in the epidermis layer of the skin.

How long will it take to heal?
​
Typically a permanent makeup procedure will take about 4-6 weeks to fully heal. Your brows will feel slightly tender during the healing process. The next 10 days post your session may be a bit of an emotional roller coaster (see the "Brow Care" tab for a day-by-day breakdown of what to expect. Adhering to the strict Before and Aftercare will directly affect your results. If you have a big event to attend in the upcoming weeks, it is recommended to schedule your appointment after your event.

What should I expect during my appointment?
​
During your appointment, we will thoroughly examine your brows to understand the direction of your natural hair growth, bone structure, and your ideal brow shape. A topical numbing cream will be applied while you fill out an electronic consent form. Then we start shaping. We work as a team to achieve your ideal look so it is important to be verbal about your preferences. It helps to have reference photos of how you typically wear your brows and what you want them to look like in terms of shape and color. Throughout the entire session, your brow artist will stretch your skin taut to create a flat surface. This will allow the artist to penetrate the skin precisely within the epidermis layer of the skin. Your session will last approximately three hours. When the procedure is done, aftercare instructions will be provided to you and you can enjoy waking up with full, low-maintenance eyebrows everyday.

What's the difference between microblading, microshading, ombre powder brows, and combo brows?
​
Microblading offers crisp hair-like strokes to mimic natural hair growth on the eyebrow. Microblading is recommended to clients who want to fill in any gaps in the brow line with a natural look and do not typically wear makeup on their brow area. Recommended for normal to dry skin types.
​
Microshading is similar to microblading, however, this technique is achieved using two different blades. Both are applied manually to mimic hair-like strokes and a flicking method to achieve soft shading. Recommended for normal to dry skin types.
​
Ombre powder brows offer a bolder makeup look. This is achieved by filing the brow area with a pixelated shading technique that can be buildable in boldness based on preference. Tails of the brows are darker and fade to a lighter shade at the start of the brows, giving them a subtle look. Pixelated shading is achieved with an electric tattoo pen. Recommended for all skin types.

Combination brows mimic hair-like stroke in the front of the brow that naturally fade to the ombre powder makeup look. This is achieved by using the manual microblade and an electronic tattoo pen. Recommended for all skin types.

Will I need a touch up?
Yes. During the healing process, your brows will first darken and the first layer of skin will begin to flake off. Your brows will appear much lighter and the pigment on the skin from the second layer will slowly start to resurface within 6-8 weeks. The true color will appear within 6-8 weeks after your session. The touch up is meant to fill in any spots that may have shed during the healing process. Additionally, any changes you would like to make can be performed during the touch up (exp. thicker, darker, etc.) A touch up is not included in the initial session.

Do I need to take a day off work?
No. There is no downtime associated with the treatment. Redness and swelling will dissipate within a couple hours.
